The Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks

The Elks Order

A national order, a local lodge, and a set of shared values

Charity

We give without expecting anything in return, through scholarships, community grants, and support for those who need it most.

Justice

We treat every member and every neighbor fairly, holding ourselves to the same standard of integrity we ask of one another.

Brotherly Love

We show up for each other, in good times and hard ones, building the kind of fellowship that turns members into family.

Fideltiy

We keep our word, to our members, our community, and the Order itself, faithfully, year after year. It’s just what we do.

So long as there are veterans, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks will never forget them.

— The Elks Creed

The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks was founded in New York City in 1868, built on four cardinal virtues: Charity, Justice, Brotherly Love, and Fidelity. What began as a small group of friends grew into one of the country’s largest fraternal organizations, with nearly a million members across more than 2,000 lodges nationwide.

Every Elks Lodge operates under this same shared mission: to serve members, support their communities, and give back without asking for recognition in return. Nationally, the Order contributes tens of millions of dollars each year to scholarships, veterans’ programs, and youth activities like the Hoop Shoot free, throw contest, funded entirely by members, for members and neighbors alike.

Great Falls Elks Lodge 214 is part of that same national Order, carrying the same four virtues into everything we do here at home. When you see us supporting local scholarships, grants, and youth programs, you’re seeing the same commitment that Elks Lodges have practiced together since 1868 — Elks Care, Elks Share.
